Personal Brand Content

Let’s rewind to 2008.

I was just a girl posting on social media for fun...back when filters were trash and no one knew what a “personal brand” even was. By 2010, I was trying to use it for business… keyword: trying. And what a rollercoaster it’s been.

Sometimes I posted to “look professional.” Other times, I went full human mode and said, “screw it, I’m just going to be me.” And let me tell you a secret…

Every single time I let go of what I thought I was supposed to post, and just shared my life, my obsession, my joy, that’s when the magic happened.

My furniture flipping side hustle got clients and sales without even trying.

My dirt bike community exploded to thousands with invites to events, podcasts, follows from professional athletes and customers without ever having to try and sell.

My detailing business boomed, completely organically.

My YouTube channel? Grew to over 4,000 without paid ads, cross promotions or fancy cameras and edits.

But every single time I started a new online business and tried to sound like everyone else? Crickets. Every time I became someone I thought people wanted…it backfired every time.

There’s this weird stigma in the online world [especially when you're trying to scale] that says you need to be polished, pitch-perfect, “valuable,” and above all, convincing. But you know what I found?

The more I tried to morph into someone else, the more I repelled the exact people I was trying to reach.

At the same time, let’s be real, never selling also gets you nowhere. I knew there had to be a balance. A way to build trust, stay true to myself, and still make real money.

After years of experimenting, failing, rising, failing again (and again), I cracked the code into these 7 pieces of content.

Not only do they work with any algorithm change, they build a personal brand that’s magnetic. One that makes people say, “I don’t know what it is about her, but I like her. I trust her. I want to work with her.”

1. Storytelling

This is the soul of your content. This is where you came from, what you’ve overcome, and why you care.

Example: I grew up thinking I wasn’t smart because I was held in from recess for failing math. That moment shaped everything, and now I help other women see that they don’t need to be the smartest to be successful, they just need to be themselves.

2. Beliefs

Your beliefs are the hill you’d die on. They’re why your business runs the way it does.

Example: One of mine? Freedom. Because once upon a time, I asked for time off to see my mom for the first time in five years… and my manager said no. That moment changed me forever.

3. Vulnerability

This is the opposite of the highlight reel. It’s where connection really happens.

Example: I failed trigonometry. I was placed on academic probation in college. I never asked for help because I didn’t believe I was smart enough. Sharing these things didn’t make people judge me—it made them trust me.

4. Testimonials

Let your results and clients speak for themselves. Share the wins, the reviews, and the screenshots.

Pro tip: Even if it’s just “You helped me finally post my first video,” that’s proof.

5. Sales

This is where you share what you do, who it’s for, and how people can work with you. Don’t skip it. If you never tell them, they won’t know.
You’re not being pushy. You’re being clear.

6. Value

Teach. Share tips. Give them a real takeaway. This builds trust without feeling salesy.
It can be as big as a meal plan or as simple as your favorite coffee shop.

7. Behind the Scenes (BTS)

Let them in. Show your workday, your mess, your prep, your late-night brainstorms.
People don’t buy perfect. They buy real.

Why This Works

Because we’re in a trust recession.

People are burned out from fake “experts,” airbrushed perfection, and overpriced fluff. They don’t want to be sold to, they want to believe you. They want to feel seen, heard, and like you get them.

Rotating through these 7 types of content helps you do exactly that.

No more chasing trends or praying the algorithm doesn’t change again tomorrow.

No more trying to be someone else.

Just real, honest, human marketing… that actually works.

Your content doesn’t have to be perfect—it just has to be you.
